Sing Song

I have several songs constantly running through my head. Sometimes I get all of them mixed up at once. Singing several verses of one song and ending up with the chorus of another.

Song Number 1:
All thanks to 'somebody' who has been playing Coldplay's Viva La Vida NON-STOP!!

Song Number 2:
That 'somebody' played Gita Gutawa's Sempurna ONCE and now I am playing it NON-STOP. This songs makes me feel all soft inside. *sigh*

Songs Number 3,4,5,6,7.. etc etc:
ISMAIL: The Last Days musical songs!!! I sing them for rehearsals like more than 10 times every night and I cannot get it out of my system. I swear I will remember the tunes and the lyrics for the rest of my life.

And we've started with the dancing together as well. It's fantastic and I am so excited. =D

Doing the things I love most... dancing and singing.

Another month to go! The tickets for Ismail: The Last Days Musical are already available for booking. It's gonna be running from the 7th-31st August 2008. Check out KLPac's website for more details!

Come see the show!!! ^_^

Nuffnang Wild 'Live' Party

I totally forgot that I haven't blogged about the Nuffnang Wild 'Live' Party, not since the 'live' post on that day itself! I guess things have been so hectic and 'life changing', plus I have been blogging about a whole lot of other stuff instead. Bad me!!

Anyway, the Wild 'Live' Party was a great success... Everyone had fun dressing up, camwhoring, playing games and winning prizes! Uhmmm... I don't know about 'everyone'-lah, but I did! ^_^ I guess the only downside was that there were too many bloggers and too little space.. so it kinda got a little bit hot and stuffy inside. I gotta add that it doesn't help that we're all so darn active as well.

And everyone was so sporting, they actually dressed up as wild animals for the party! I likey...

Nick the Misunderstood Creature and Min Li the Ladybird.

Mike Yip as a cat. Meowww...

A Ladybird, a bunny, a cat and a cute red-eared animal.

Kul with her gorgeous dress as the gorgeous peacock.

The male bunny, the ladybird, the chicken and the peacock. Now, where on earth does this ever happen?

There were three gorillas! This one of them.

O Hai?!?! Mr Tiger and I.

The Elephant Terrorist. This fellow with a sock/towel as his nose (so cute-lah!) got nominated as one of the 'Best Dressed Males'.

The ever so manis Hanis Zalikha from Malaysian Dreamgirls... She came as a moth.

Tony the self-declared panther... Cause he wore all black. -_-

Camwhore a bit first. This is the surprised ditsy bimbo face.

And then there were the games!!! My favourite portion of the night! Make ourselves look stupid by parading around the place and doing silly things. Hahahaha.... =D

Liang the emcee is Tarzan so that he can control all the animals.

Timothy Tiah, co-founder of Nuffnang as a lion... giving the welcome speech.

Everyone crowding around the 'dance floor' ready to bermain.

The 'Nuffies' are game assistants!

Liang calls for a ladybird volunteer. Min Li runs forward like damn kiasu. LOL

The go-find-the-little-figurines-around-the-place game. That's me and Tony counting the toys we managed to collect.

And then I won!!! Actually it was a joint effort of Nick, Tony, myself and several other bloggers who decided to donate their animal figurines to me.

This is what we do when we have nothing better to do and are surrounded by a whole load of little animal figurines.

Tony and his guardian angel. A frog.

Min Li is trying to find her prince.

That's Marvin balancing the turtle. I really don't know what we're trying to do in this shot.

At about half way through the party, dinner was served. We had two different kinds of spaghettis, chicken, soup... and several other dishes. I can't remember already. >.<

Yum! Yum!

Not enough food... try for milk! I know it looks disgusting, but 'the cow' seems to be enjoying it.

The night ended about 10-ish. Everyone was busy taking pictures until the very very end!

Nick, Linora the dragonfly with the beautiful wings she made herself, Min Li the ladybird with the beautiful wings she made herself and Tony.

Kul, Frankie, Linora, Min Li, Nick.

My fellow ladybug in the house, Su Ann/Pink Pau.

Kenny Sia the Pooh Bear with no honey pot.

Robb Chew the porcupine.

The Queen of the Jungle a.k.a Best Dressed Female is this sultry lioness.

The King of the Jungle a.k.a Best Dressed Male is this cow with pink nipples.

So that's it! My very first costume party. =D

Imagine my surprise when Kanu called me up really early yesterday morning (I was still sleeping and groggy) and asked me why the freak my face was in the Malay Mail for some Wild party.

The short article.

Frankie and I...
I don't know why people like to put my name terbalik. It's Lee Min Li lah.

Thanks to Nick Dorian, Mike Yip, Shaolin Tiger and Linora for the pictures of the party. My camera kaput-ed that night because I forgot to put the battery into my camera after charging it the whole day. -_-"

Loneliness

I have to admit. I don't usually watch locally made movies at the cinema. But thanks to Kash I've gotten all hyped up about watching Sepi. Starring Afdlin Shauki, Vanidah Imran, Nasha Aziz, Tony Eusoff, Eja, Baizura Kahar... etc etc, it's the latest movie directed by Kabir Bhatia, the acclaimed director who directed award winning local movie Cinta, and the latest Indonesian one, Love.

I worked with Kabir on an episode of an upcoming tv series... and Kash was part of Sepi as well. So okay-lah, go support. =D

Sepi (2008)
Three individuals in the city learn the meaning of love, loss and loneliness in this romantic drama.
Adam, a successful young chef, expends his energy in creating confectionery masterpieces for weddings, yet has still to find his own bride. Then there is Sufi, who each day runs for miles in an attempt to outrun the memories of his dead wife.
Finally, there is Imaan, a young playwright who discovers that theatre is a stage of where her past is finally resolved and her future unveiled. All three strangers are inevitably linked to a single dramatic moment that transforms their lives forever.

Source: Sepi The Movie

Sepi is a beautifully linked and written film making three great love stories. I have to say it's a fantastic effort. Despite several portions being rather lengthy and a few cheesy scenes here and there, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie... and for once in my life I walked out of the cinema after watching a local movie feeling good.

Happy endings, not so happy endings and several twists made it an interesting watch. After all, this is a love story... and as long as it makes us feel all mushy and lovey dovey at the end of it, it's good enough.

Sepi does just that.

Check out the trailer. And honestly, don't miss it. It's in cinemas now! ^_^

Oh by the way, don't forget to look out for the 'Lelaki Hip Hop' on the LRT in the movie. Hahahahahahhaa... Yeah, that's Kash. =P

I'm Getting Too Old

I am sick. Terribly sick. The gonna-drop-down-and-pengsan sick. I have a runny nose and because I have been wiping it far too often now it feels sore. My throat hurts so badly I feel like I've downed a pail of boiling hot water. My head is spinning, I have a migraine and my eyes are painful as hell.

But I still can blog. Haha.

*sigh* I think I know why I'm sick. It's called free flow clubbing, tiring rehearsals and lack of sleep.

Anyway, speaking of clubbing, I've been out two days straight, something I've not done in a while because... I'm old-lah. I don't have the stamina no more. On Thursday I went straight for the Euphoria by MOS Media Launch Party after 'Ismail' rehearsals. Went with Fang, Tony, Lawrence... and then met Alfred and Amelia there. I was damn tired wey, but still in the mood for party. Free flow what. LOL

I have to say, Euphoria's dance floor is damn bloody big.

Euphoria by Ministry of Sound... DJ area and dance floor.

Met with Andy whom I have not seen in awhile and nicked his photos! Thanks babe.

Parrrttaaayyy... parrrrtttaaayyy..!!!

Phew-wet! Tony got to dance with the sexy dancers!!!

The next day, I had a date with my girls; Alea, Kanu... and Kanu's friend from New Zealand, Christine, who is here on a holiday.

We got invites to the Lot 10 Fabulous White Party on the rooftop of the shopping mall, celebrating the re-energized Lot 10. As the name suggests, have to wear all white-lah.

I didn't know Lot 10's rooftop was party-able! >.<

The four pure and innocent girls in white! LOL

Met Andy again... without him, no photos! www.andykho.com

So you see-lah. That's why I'm sick. Party, drink and dance myself to sickness. I berkarat already. -_-

I am going to sleep now. If I stare at this computer screen any longer, blood will start spurting outta me eyes. TA!

Shrimps! Prawns! Udang! Ha!

I really have to blog about the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Restaurant & Market at the Curve, or better known to all as the Forrest Gump restaurant.

That's because I have actually been to eat here 3 times in the past 2 weeks. Somehow or rather someone was bound to suggest we go eat there... and of course, being a crazy shrimp lover (despite the horrid tales of high cholesterol) I just HAD to go! >.<

The cute menu with the happy wappy prawn in the front.

What I absolutely love about the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. is the interior decoration and the memorabilias. It was like walking into the set of the Forrest Gump movie; with posters, pictures, set clothings and huge signs with famous phrases from the movie.

See the set of little Forrest Gump's first day of school clothings? So cute!

Car plates are used on the table to inform the waiters-- 'Run Forrest Run' is used when we're doing fine... and 'Stop Forrest Stop' when we needed something. The day's specials are attached to a table tennis bat, because Forrest Gump was a genius in that game.

Oh... and the third time I was there, the waiter decided to give me a Forrest Gump trivia. See if you can get any correct. No cheating, ah!

1. When Forrest Gump played American football, what was his jersey number?
2. Where is Forrest Gump's home state?
3. How long did Forrest Gump run before he eventually stopped?
4. What is Forrest Gump's favourite drink?
5. What is Forrest Gump's girlfriend's name?

Jenny says, "Run Forrest! Run!"

"Stop, I say... STOP! I need something!"

Imagine a menu with lots and lots of shrimps! So yummy yummilicious.... *mouth waters*

When I went with Nick, he ordered a Tropical Sunrise, a cocktail of Malibu, Midori, orange juice and other tropical fruits.

This is one hell of a fantastic appetiser... Cajun Shrimp!

Han ordered Bubba's After the Storm "Bucket of Boat Trash" <-- What a name!... Consisting of deep fried shrimp, lobster tail and baramundi, served with fries.

And the entire meal was served on a metal bucket. LOL

This is my ultimate favourite because it's all shrimp! Shrimper's Heaven has coconut shrimp, chilli shrimp, tempura shrimp, fried shrimp, fries and all the dipping sauces.

Nick ordered the "I'm Stuffed!" Shrimp - large shrimp stuffed with crab, baked in garlic butter and topped with Monterey Jack cheese served with jasmine rice.

When Linora and I went together, we shared the tender shrimp sauteed with capers in lemon garlic butter served over a bed of linguini, called the "... Of Course We Have Scampi!".

Well, if you're not into shrimp, they do have other choices as well, like the Bourbon Street Baramundi which An ordered.

Don't forget the delicious looking dessert. I spoiled myself with this beautiful but sinful looking delight called That Chocolate Thing.

They even have a little gift shop outside the restaurant that sells all things Forrest. I was so tempted to buy the little shrimp magnet.. but it blardy costs RM16. Gila ah?!?

Forrest-to-go?

My favourite phrase! ^_^

Answer to the trivia questions:-

Correct Answer: 44.
2. Min's answer: Greenbow, Alabama.

3. Min's answer: 3 years, 2 months, 14 days, 16 hours.

4. Min's answer: Momma's homemade apple juice.
